In Memoriam:  Margaret Hopkosky

PARMA, OH [MW Diocese Communications] — Miss Margaret Hopkosky, 95, fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, March 24, 2018.

The daughter of the late Vasil and Justina Stetz Hopkosky, Margaret for decades was a tireless worker at Archangel Michael Church, Broadview Heights, OH; the Diocese of the Midwest, for which she served as Secretary in the 1980s, during the episcopate of His Grace, the late Bishop Boris [Geeza]; the Orthodox Church in America; and the Federated Russian Orthodox Clubs, now the Fellowship of Orthodox Christians in America, in which she had held a variety of positions nationally and in the Ohio District.  She was also active in Cleveland’s Orthodox Christian Women’s Guild and a variety of related organizations and ministries.  In recognition of her devotion to the life of the Church, she was awarded a gramota in March 1968 and the Order of Saint Innocent, Bronze Class.

Professionally, Margaret was employed for many years at The Plain Dealer, and endlessly championed the promotion and publication of Orthodox Christian activities, anniversaries, and parish events throughout the Cleveland area and beyond.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her brothers John and Basil and sisters Helen and Mary, and her niece, Eugenia Bobkins [Dr. George].  She is survived by her great nephews Stephen and Michael Bobkins and her great-niece Georgina Bobkins.

Visitation will be held at Archangel Michael Church, 5025 East Mill Road, Broadview Heights, OH from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27.  The Parastas will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m.  The Funeral Service will be celebrated at Archangel Michael Church at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28.  Interment will follow at Saint Theodosius Cemetery.

May Marge’s memory be eternal!
