Upon his canonization in 1994, the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church published the following Troparion and Kontakion:

Troparion to the Hieromartyr Archpriest John of Tsarskoye Selo

Aflame with love for God, / you gave your life as a martyr for Christ and neighbor. / For this you received a crown of righteousness from Him. / O hieromartyr John, entreat the most merciful God / to preserve the holy Church in peace / and to save our souls.

Kontakion to the Hieromartyr Archpriest John of Tsarskoye Selo
Tone 8

As you zealously fulfilled your pastoral service, / as a well-pleasing sacrifice / you brought your soul to God, / entreat Christ God, O father John, / to grant peace to the world / and great mercy to our souls.
