LIVONIA, MI [DOM
Communications] – On February 2, the Feast of the Meeting of the Lord in the temple, Holy Transfiguration Church, Livonia, MI, was blessed to receive His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon, and His Grace Bishop Paul. Accompanying His Beatitude were Archpriest Alexander Rentel, Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America, and Archdeacon Joseph Matusiak.
Prior to Divine Liturgy both hierarchs engaged the church school children in pastoral conversation and encouraged them in the faith. Servers Owen Larsen and Sam Stinson were blessed to wear the orarion for their years of service, and Alec Brennan was tonsured Reader. Two young women, Emily Cameron and Sophia Lovich, were given Icons in recognition of their years of service, as well. During the informal lunch following the service, all were able to greet and converse with the hierarchs and receive their blessing.
