CLEVELAND, OH [DOM Communications] – 2020 marks 50 years of Autocephaly for the Orthodox Church in America. This milestone was to be celebrated throughout the diocese on a deanery level until the current pandemic altered those plans. Although many of the celebrations have been canceled or postponed, the Cleveland Deanery will be moving their celebration to a “virtual” celebration to honor this anniversary.
The celebration will take place on December 4th at 7:00 p.m. (EST) and will be led by Archbishop Paul of Chicago. The faithful of the Cleveland area and others who would like to join can do so via the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church Youtube channel. Prayer books are also available for download for those who wish to participate.
Following the service to the North American Saints, Archpriest Alexander Garklavs will be offering a reflection on the autocephaly of the OCA.
