CHICAGO, IL [DOM] – On the Great and Holy Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, August 6, His Grace Bishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest celebrated the divine services at the Diocesan Cathedral, Holy Trinity Cathedral.
This celebration was particularly joyous and note worthy as it was Bishop Daniel’s first service in the diocese as the Diocesan Hierarch since his election by the Holy Synod in July.
Concelebrating with His Grace was Priest Alexander Koranda, Cathedral Dean, Protodeacon Thomas Keith, Deacon Paul Garklavs.
Following the Prayer at the Ambo, His Grace read the prayer for the blessing of the fruit.
At the end of the service His Grace offered a reflection on the Great Feast, and of his first time being at the cathedral as the Diocesan Hierarch. Bishop Daniel asked the faithful to remember him in their prayers as he begins this new ministry serving the Church. Fr. Alexander greeted the bishop welcoming him to his new home and thanked His Grace for the sacrifices that he has made in order to serve Christ, the Church, and the faithful of the cathedral and diocese.
The singing of “Many Years” was intoned for Fr. Thomas who was celebrating the anniversary of his ordination.
