Observances Set for the First Anniversary of Repose of Archbishop Paul

CHICAGO, IL [DOM] – His Eminence Archbishop Paul, the late Archbishop of Chicago and the Midwest reposed a year ago on the Holy and Saving day of the Resurrection of the Lord, April 24, 2022. The beloved Archbishop was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer and fell asleep in the Lord only a few months after the diagnosis.

His Eminence Archbishop Daniel announced plans in the diocese to commemorate the first anniversary of Archbishop Paul’s repose on April 24, 2023.

The Hierarchical Divine Liturgy will be served at the Diocesan Cathedral, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Chicago, IL at 9:30a CST. Local clergy are encouraged to attend and serve this important observance. A memorial service will be held at the gravesite of Archbishop Paul at the Holy Dormition Monastery in Rives Junction, MI at 11:00a EST. The service will be led by Archpriest Dusan Koprivica, Dean of the Michigan Deanery.

His Eminence Archbishop calls on the clergy and the faithful of the diocese to prayerful remember the late Archbishop of the day of his repose. May Archbishop Paul’s memory be eternal.
