Archbishop of Chicago Celebrates Fourth Sunday of Pascha at Diocesan Cathedral

CHICAGO, IL [DOM] – On the Fourth Sunday of Pascha, May 7, His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest presided over the divine services at the Diocesan Cathedral, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Chicago, IL.

Serving with His Eminence was Priest Alexander Koranda, Cathedral Dean, Archpriest Tarasiy Maxim, Priest Paul Abernathy (Antiochian), Protodeacon Thomas Keith, and Deacon Paul Garklavs. The Cathedral Choir sang under the direction of Ms. Olga Garklavs.

During the Little Entrance, Fr. Alexander was awarded the Gold cross, Fr. Thomas was awarded the Kamilavka, and Fr. Paul was awarded the double orarion.

Fr. Paul Abernathy preached on the healing found in living a life of Christ and bearing witness to this great gift. Fr. Paul is the main speaker for the upcoming diocesan Clergy Convocation.

Following the Divine Liturgy the Archbishop congratulated the clergy who received awards and the entire cathedral community. His Eminence intoned many years for the clergy and faithful gathered. A festive meal was then held in the parish hall.
