CHICAGO, IL [DOM] — With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago, the 62nd Assembly of the Diocese of the Midwest will be held at St. Peter and St. Paul Church, located in Burr Ridge, in the Greater Chicago Area of Illinois. This year there will be a full, rich program extending the full three days.
SCHEDULE
This year we are pleased welcome Father Daniel Greeson as our speaker and homilist. Father Daniel is the rector of St. Anne Church in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and will speak to us on the implications of doctrine for life, drawing especially from the preaching of St. John Chrysostom.
The initial session, including the Archbishop’s Address, is slated to begin at 6:30pm on Monday, October 2. Registrants from regions of the Diocese other than the Chicagoland are urged to arrive no later than 4:30 p.m. on October 2, and to schedule departing flights for no earlier than 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4. Burr Ridge is roughly equidistant from O’Hare and Midway International Airports, and directly accessible from two major interstate highways (I-294 and I-55).
REGISTRATION
The registration fee for this year’s Assembly is $200.00 per delegate or observer. Rectors and Priests-in-Charge, please register yourselves and your parish delegates and observers at https://reporting.domoca.org/.
Each parish should register its assigned priests and deacons, plus an equal number of lay delegates. Parishes without a rector may be represented by their administrator or priest in-charge. Moreover, one lay delegate is allowed from each parish without an assigned priest. Lay delegates are duly elected at a parish meeting or by the parish council, in accordance with the provisions of the respective parish bylaws. Attached and retired clergy may register to attend, with voice but without vote (and without a corresponding number of lay delegates). Laity who are not delegates may also register to attend as observers, with neither voice nor vote. Rectors, please consult the Parish Directory on the OCA website if you are uncertain of a priest’s or deacon’s status.
