CHICAGO, IL [DOM] – Chicago parishes will be offering two lectures on Saturday, October 28, featuring engaging topics and inviting those who are able to attend.
The first lecture is being sponsored by Holy Resurrection Church, Palatine, IL, at 10:00 A.M., featuring Sister Vassa (Larin), who will be speaking about her book, “Praying in Time.” From 2009 thru 2017 Sister Vassa taught Liturgical Studies at the Catholic Faculty of the University of Vienna in Austria. She currently lives in Vienna where she writes, speaks and teaches throughout Europe and the US. She is coming to the USA on a book tour to present her recent publication, “Praying in Time”. The second lecture that day will be the Annual St. John of Chicago Lecture, hosted by Holy Trinity Cathedral, Chicago, IL. The Diocesan Cathedral dedicates the month of October to commemorate the great builder and missionary of Chicago, Hieromartyr John Kochurov. The topic of this year’s lecture is entitled, “Orthodoxy and Modern Art.” The lecture will be given by Priest John Kennerk, Rector of Christ the Savior Church, Chicago, IL. The free talk will begin at 3:00 P.M. with resurrection Vigil beginning at 5:00 P.M.
