Faithful remember Archbishop Job on the first anniversary of his repose

BLACK LICK, PA [MW Diocese Communications] Memorials were celebrated in all parishes of the Diocese of the Midwest for His Eminence, Archbishop Job, on the first anniversary of his repose on Saturday, December 18 and Sunday, December 19, 2010.

Midwest Diocesan parishes are invited to submit photographs of their Memorials to the Diocese of the Midwest at chancery@domoca.org.

Meanwhile, at Saint John the Baptist Church, Black Lick, PA, where Archbishop Job was laid to rest, numerous Midwest Diocesan clergy and faithful joined His Grace, Bishop Melchisidek of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania; Archimandrite Pitirim [Stehnach], priest-in-charge at the parish; and area clergy and faithful on Saturday for the celebration of the Divine Liturgy and Memorial. Special guests included Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Dean of Saint Catherine the Great Martyr OCA Respresentation Church, Moscow, Russia, and a group of Saint Catherine pilgrims who are on pilgrimage in the US.

Following the Divine Liturgy and Memorial, Bishop Melchisidek led the procession to the grave of Archbishop Job, located in the church yard behind the altar, where additional prayers were offered and the gravestone marker was blessed.

A memorial dinner followed the church hall, during which many shared their memories of Archbishop Job and the ways he touched their lives in special and unique ways.
