BROADVIEW HEIGHTS, OH [MW Diocese Communications] — Archangel Michael Church here is hosting a special choir concert on Saturday, December 1, 2012. Saint Tikhon’s Seminary choir sing the responses at Great Vespers at 5:00 p.m., after which they will perform a concert beginning at 7:00.
According to Archpriest John Memorich, rector, in conjunction with the service and concert, Archpriest John Perich, museum curator at Saint Tikhon’s Monastery/Seminary, will be present with an exhibit which contains a number of ancient liturgical items, vestments, relics, and other religious treasures. Among the treasures included in the exhibit are relics and personal items of Saint Nicholai Velimirovich of Zicha, seminary rector in the 1950s; relics of Saints Raphael Hawaweeny, Tecla, Ephraim, John of Damascus, and the Holy Innocents; relics of Saint Theodosius of Chernigov, patron saint of Cleveland’s Saint Theodosius Cathedral; relics of the North American saints; the vestments of the late Metropolitans Theophilus and Leonty; personal items of Saint Tikhon of Moscow, Saint Alexander Hotovitzky, and Saint Alexis Toth; relics of Saints John Kochurov, Maxim Sandovich [uncle of the late choir master at Archangel Michael Church, Prof. John Ressetar], Michael of Kiev, Saint Grand Duchess Elizabeth; and more.
Concert tickets may be purchased at the door for $20.00. Children are encouraged to attend free of charge. Refreshments will be available during the museum exhibit. All proceeds from the concert will benefit Saint Tikhon’s Seminary.
