Bishop Paul endorses Chicago’s Orthodox Christian Coalition for Healthy Youth
CHICAGO, IL [MW Diocese Communications] — During the second week of July 2015, His Grace, Bishop Paul of Chicago and the Midwest added his name to the list of Midwest Hierarchs of other jurisdictions in endorsing the work of Chicago’s Orthodox Christian Coalition for Healthy Youth [OCCHY].
His signature has been added to the hierarchs’ endorsement and may be viewed at and downloaded from here.
OCCHY-Chicago, a pan-Orthodox ministry, is in its third year of activity for the purpose of preventing substance use/abuse among Orthodox Christian youth. Under directorship of Father Nicholas Dahdal, OCCHY, based at Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Church, Cicero, IL, engages the nearly 80 Orthodox Christian parishes throughout the Greater Chicago area. OCCHY’s Project Manager is Ms. Gordana Trbuhovich.

OCCHY operates under a five-year Drug Free Community grant awarded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration of the federal government. OCCHY is the first Orthodox Christian faith-based organization to receive this federal grant.
