Holy Transfiguration Church, Livonia, MI seeks choir director
LIVONIA, MI [MW Diocese Communications] — Holy Transfiguration Church is seeking a choir director for its established a cappella adult choir. The position, which includes remuneration, will become open and available at the beginning of May 2019.
The prospective director must have formal music education and training or a minimum of five years experience as a full-time choir director and demonstrate above-average vocal technique and basic piano proficiency.
Duties include directing the choir at Saturday and Sunday services and major feasts, including Lenten/Easter and Christmas services; selecting appropriate musical arrangements to be sung according to the Church calendar and in consultation with the parish rector; offering instruction in the fundamentals of vocal technique, sight singing, and ear training; overseeing the proper maintenance of the music library, choir room, supplies, and choir area in the nave; and assisting in the development of additional ensembles, such as a children’s choir and a men’s choir.
