Archbishop attends St. Macrina Institute Conference

MILWAUKEE, WI [DOM] – On Friday, July 25, His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest traveled to Saints Cyril and Methodious Church, Milwaukee, WI, to meet with current participants in the Saint Macrina Institute’s Diaconal Training Program.  This was in conjunction with the Institute’s annual practicum. The Archbishop was accompanied by Priest Nikolai Lochmatow, Secretary to the Archbishop, Priest Esteban Vazquez, Diocesan Vice-Chancellor and SMI faculty member, and Priest Daniel Greeson, Director of the Department of Christian Education.  Upon arrival, His Eminence was welcomed by Archpriest Elijah Mueller, Director of the Saint Macrina Institute, and Presvytera Rebecca Luft, who is also a member of the Institute’s faculty.
Throughout the afternoon, His Eminence held personal meetings with each of the participants, speaking with them about their participation and involvement in the program as well as the role of deacons within the Church and the specific hopes and expectations for all our diocesan deacons.  Later in the afternoon, the Archbishop spoke to the group, providing for discussions of various aspects of diocesan and parish life and of hopes for the future.
