Archbishop Daniel Presides Over Festal Services at ROCOR Cathedral

DES PLAINES, IL [DOM] – On Monday, October 14, His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest presided over festal services at Holy Virgin Protection Cathedral (ROCOR), Des Plaines, IL. The cathedral celebrated its altar feast with the celebration of the All-Night Vigil on Sunday evening, and the Divine Liturgy the next morning.

The Archbishop was invited to preside over the services by His Eminence Archbishop Peter of Chicago and Mid-America, who was traveling overseas during the celebration. Archbishop Daniel was joined by a number of clergy from the Diocese of the Midwest including Archpriest Herman Kincaid, Chancellor, Mitered Archpriest Vladimir Kovalchuk, and Priests Alexander Koranda, Nikolai Lochmatow, and Jacob Van Sickle.

Following the Cross-Procession, Archbishop Daniel greeted the clergy and faithful on the feast and was then presented a gift by Archpriest Gregory Joyce, Secretary of the Mid-American Diocese. A banquet was held in honor of the feast and greetings from Archbishop Peter were read at that time.
