Archbishop Daniel visits Holy Assumption in Marblehead, OH

MARBLEHEAD, OH [DOM] – His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest visited Holy Assumption Church, Marblehead, OH for an archpastoral visit on December 6 and December 7.  

On Saturday December 6, His Eminence arrived at the parish at 110 East Main Street, which is located across the street from Lake Erie. On Sunday morning parishioner Ron Royhab met His Eminence at the front doors of the church with the traditional greeting of bread and salt.

Serving with the Archbishop were Archpriest Herman Kincaid, Chancellor, Archpriest Peter Tomas, Rector, Priest Jacob Ponomarenko (ROCOR), and Protodeacon Samuel Slimak. The choir was directed by Matushka Michelle.

Prior to the Divine Liturgy, Joseph Schutt was tonsured to the rank of Reader. Fr. Peter was awarded the jeweled cross for 30 years of service as a priest during the Little Entrance. At the conclusion of the service, His Eminence blessed the 30-year marriage of Fr. Peter and Matushka Michelle.

Following the service everyone enjoy fellowship at a local restaurant.
