YONKERS, NY [SVS] – On September 13 and 14, the great feast of the Exultation of the Life Giving Cross, His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest celebrated the feast at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, Yonkers New York.
The All Night Vigil was served on the Wednesday evening with Archpriest Chad Hatfield, Seminary Dean, faculty and student clergy serving with the Archbishop. At the Great Doxology, the cross was processed to the center of the chapel and the Rite of Exultation was performed.
On Thursday, Divine Liturgy was celebrated and Midwest seminarian, Jared Ries was ordained to the holy diaconate.
The Archbishop’s visit to the seminary is in conjunction with the diocesan appeal, “Support Our Seminarians” during the month of September. The diocese currently has 11 seminarians studying to serve the Midwest upon graduation. Learn how you can help here.
