Archbishop Paul Remembered throughout the Diocese

CHICAGO, IL [DOM] – Bells rang throughout the diocese in celebration of the Lord’s Resurrection and continue to ring in remembrance of the repose of Archbishop Paul of Chicago and the Midwest. Throughout the dioceses, Paschal Memorial services have been held continually for the newly reposed Archbishop.

On the saving day of Pascha, the Diocesan Cathedral, Holy Trinity Cathedral, held a memorial service for their newly departed Rector. “This is a wonderful day full of joy, which brings a smile to the face of all Orthodox Christians. But the smile that I am thinking about most today, is the Paschal smile that was frequently on our Archbishop’s face,” said Priest Alexander Koranda, Cathedral Dean. “Everyone knows the smile I am talking about and can picture it in their minds at this very moment. That expression is fulfilled today for our beloved pastor.”

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday evening at 6:00 P.M. at the cathedral and will continue on Bright Wednesday with Divine Liturgy at 9:00 A.M.

May his memory be eternal. Christ is Risen!
