Bishop Daniel Presides Over Services at Sister Cathedral in Chicago

DES PLAINS, IL [DOM] – On Friday, October 14, His Grace Bishop Daniel presided over the festal services at the Holy Virgin Protection Cathedral (ROCOR), Des Plains, IL.

His Grace attended services at the invitation of His Eminence Archbishop Peter of Chicago and Mid-America (ROCOR), who was unable to attend due to illness. Archbishop Peter called His Grace to congratulate him on the feast and thank him for officiating the Divine Liturgy of his Diocesan Cathedral. The hierarchs congratulated one another and expressed their desire to serve together in the near future.

Serving with His Grace was a number of clergy from the Mid-American Diocese, as well as Archpriest Emilian Hutnyan and Priest Alexander Koranda from the Diocese of the Midwest.

At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Daniel offered a few words on the feast. Archpriest Gregory Joyce, Secretary for the Mid-American Diocese welcomed Bishop Daniel on behalf of Archbishop Peter and the diocese, and presented Bishop Daniel with a gift in commemoration to his first visit to the cathedral.

Follow Divine Liturgy, a festive meal was held in the parish hall.
