CHICAGO, IL [DOM] – On the Third Sunday of Great Lent, the Sunday of the Cross, March 23, His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest presided over the divine services at the Diocesan Cathedral, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Chicago, IL.
Serving with the Archbishop were Archpriest Herman Kincaid, Chancellor, Priest Alexander Koranda, Cathedral Dean, Archpriest Tasrasy Maxim, and Deacon Paul Garklavs. The Cathedral Choir was directed by Ms. Olga Garklavs.
At the Little Entrance, the Archbishop presented Fr. Herman with the Jeweled Cross in honor of his new appointment as Chancellor of the Diocese. When presenting the award, His Eminence spoke on the life of a Christian, and especially a priest, is a cross. Fr. Herman offered the homily.
At the conclusion of the service the Archbishop congratulated Fr. Herman and his family. A festive meal was held in the hall.
