CHICAGO, IL [DOM] – On Thursday, November 16 (November 3, O. S.), St. George Cathedral in Chicago, IL, celebrated the transferring of the relics of St. George the Great Martyr, the patron of their holy temple. Services were presided over by His Eminence, Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest.
The night prior, the All Night Vigil was served by Rector, Priest Nikolai Lochmatow. The Archbishop led the morning Divine Liturgy and was joined by Fr. Nikolai Lochmatow, Mitered Archpriest Vladimir Kovalchuk, Archpriest Athanasios Chulakov of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, Priest Alexander Koranda, and Deacon Paul Garklavs.
At the conclusion of the liturgy, Fr. Nikolai greeted the Archbishop on the occasion of the feast, and on the occasion of his birthday. In commemoration of the day, Fr. Nikolai presented His Eminence with a Dikiri and Trikiri set. A festive meal was held in the hall following the Prayers of Thanksgiving.
