Cincinnati Parish Celebrates 50th Anniversary

CINCINNATI, OH [OCA/DOM] – On Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7,  His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Diocese Midwest, the 50th Anniversary celebration of Christ the Savior–Holy Spirit Church, Cincinnati, OH. His Eminence welcomed His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon, Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada and His Eminence Archbishop Melchisedek of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania to the Diocese of the Midwest and to this milestone in the life of the parish.

On Saturday evening, Great Vespers was served and a light reception was held in the church hall.

On Sunday, His Beatitude presided at the celebration of the hierarchical Divine Liturgy. Concelebrating with His Beatitude was Archbishop Daniel, Archbishop Melchisedek, Archpriest Steven Kostoff, Rector, Archpriest Herman Kincaid, Chancellor, Archpriest Alexander Rentel, Archpriest Dennis Buck, and Protodeacon Peter Ilchuk.

At the conclusion of the liturgy, His Eminence warmly greeted his Beatitude and His Eminence and welcomed them to the parish and the Diocese.

A festive banquet was held at the Cintas Center at Xavier University in Cincinnati to conclude the weekend’s celebrations. At the banquet, remarks were given about the history of the parish and greetings to the faithful of the parish.
