CHICAGO, IL [DOM] – During the first week of Great and Holy Lent, His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest has traveled to some of his local communities leading them in worship and prayer.
On Clean Monday, His Eminence read the Great Canon of St. Andrew of Crete at the Diocesan Cathedral, Holy Trinity Cathedral in Chicago. Priest Alexander Koranda, Cathedral Dean, served Great Compline.
On the second day of the fast, the Archbishop traveled to St. Luke the Evangelist Church, Palos Hills. There he served with the Chancellor of the diocese, Archpriest Paul Jannakos.
Clean Wednesday welcomed Archbishop Daniel at Christ the Savior Church, Chicago. There the Archbishop read the third reading of the Great Canon and prayed with the newly appointed priest, John Kennerk.
The final reading of the Great Canon was served at St. George Cathedral in Chicago, the new location of the Chancery. Serving with His Eminence was Priest Nikolai Lochmatow.
The week ended with the celebration of Presanctified Liturgy at Holy Trinity Cathedral on Clean Friday.
