Diocesan Musical Ministry Offering Assistance to Parishes

BURBANK, IL [DOM] – In a letter addressed to diocesan clergy in late February, His Eminence Archbishop Paul, encouraged participation in the newly established, “Saint Andrew of Crete Musical Ministry” which was established by the Diocese with the purpose of “equipping the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.”

“Skills, at any stage, can be improved through the coaching and mentoring processes. With the goal of establishing an ongoing relationship, an experienced Orthodox musician can be paired with your choir director or music leaders,” stated the letter.

This ministry is to assist choirs in:

  • Maximize musical strengths in order to offer our “best”- for the beauty and understanding of our worship
  • Meet your parish’s individual needs
  • Be a source of answering questions or providing resources, especially music suitable for smaller choirs
  • Provide a supportive, encouraging and positive partnership for problem solving
