CHICAGO, IL [DOM] – On Wednesday, December 20, the feast of wonderworking priest, St. John of Kronstdat was commemorated at the Diocesan Cathedral, Holy Trinity Cathedral. His Eminence Archbishop Daniel presided over the Divine Liturgy.
Serving with the Archbishop was Archpriest Paul Jannakos, Chancellor, Mitered Archpriest Yaroslav Murgan, Priest Alexander Koranda, Cathedral Dean, Archpriest John Baker, Priest Nikolai Lochmatow, Priest Anthony Saunders, Priest Joseph Whittaker, Protodeacon Thomas Keith, Deacon Andrew Bender, Deacon Paul Garklavs, and Deacon John York.
During the Little Entrance, Fr. Nikolai was presented with the Kamilavka. The Archbishop noted father’s hard work and dedication to the Church during the presentation of the award. Following the Great Entrance, third year seminarian of the diocese, Deacon John, was ordained to the Holy Priesthood.
At the conclusion of the service, the Archbishop offered a reflection of St. John of Kronstdat and extended his prayerful wishes for the newly ordained priest and his family. Fr. Alexander presented Fr. John with an icon of St. Tikhon of North America, a gift from the cathedral community.
A festive Lenten meal was held in the hall following Prayers of Thanksgiving.
