Holy Pentecost: Feast of the Diocesan Cathedral

CHICAGO, IL [DOM] – The feast of Holy Pentecost was celebrated on Sunday, June 23 by His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest at the Diocesan Cathedral, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Chicago, IL. This weekend is the Altar Feast of the Diocesan Cathedral named in honor of the Holy Trinity.

The Archbishop served the festal vigil the night before, Saturday, June 22. Celebrating with the Archbishop was Priest Alexander Koranda, Cathedral Dean, Archpriest Tarasiy Maxim, Archpriest Herman Kincaid, Protodeacon Thomas Keith and Deacon Sampson Nash.

The following day, the Archbishop was greeted by Fr. Alexander and Fr. Tarasiy, and celebrated the Divine Liturgy for Pentecost. Following the Divine Liturgy, the Vespers of Pentecost took place. Those in attendance enjoyed a festive meal following the service.
