Holy Synod of Bishops Confirms Additional 2% Employer Contribution to Pension Plan

CHICAGO, IL [OCA] – At its Regular Fall 2023 Session, the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Orthodox Church in America met in Chicago, IL, under the presidency of His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon. At the meeting, the Holy Synod considered the decision of the Metropolitan Council regarding the OCA Pension Plan and confirmed its vote for an additional 2% in employer contribution. This increase will go into effect on January 1, 2024.

Participation in the Pension Plan is a requirement for all eligible clergy and lay employees of the Orthodox Church in America, as mandated by the 4th All-American Council and then again confirmed by the Revised Statute of the Orthodox Church in America approved by the 19th All-American Council.
