CHICAGO, IL [DOM] – On Sunday, December 31, the Leavetaking of the Nativity of the Lord, His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest held services at the Diocesan Cathedral, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Chicago, IL.
Serving with the Archbishop were Priest Alexander Koranda, Cathedral Dean, Priest Joseph Whittaker, Protodeacon Thomas Keith, Deacon Paul Garklavs, and Deacon Jordan Kingery. The choir was directed by Olga Garklavs.
After the Great Entrance, Deacon Jordan was ordained to the Holy Priesthood. Priest Jordan is finishing up his third year at St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary and will then serve as a chaplain for the United States Military.
Following the Prayers of Thanksgiving, the Cathedral Yolka was held by the children of the parish.
