LORAIN, OH [DOM] – On Saturday, September 9, His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest traveled to SS. Peter and Paul Church, Lorain, Ohio, for an archpastoral visit.
During the Little Entrance, His Eminence presented Archpriest Basil Stoyka with the miter. During his archpastoral visit in April to the parish, the Archbishop announced that the synod had approved Fr. Basil to receive the award, but he would have to return at a later date when a miter was obtained to formally present it to Fr. Basil.
The full temple was attended by 13 priests and 3 deacons from multiple jurisdictions in the Cleveland area who served the Divine Liturgy with Archbishop Daniel. There were also over 130 parishioners and friends present to show their love for Fr. Basil and share in this joyous occasion. A festive meal was held in the hall to mark the celebration of the day.
