Archbishop JOB participates in 4th annual Nikolai of Zicha pilgrimage – 07/15/07

LIBERTYVILLE, IL[MW Communications] – His Eminence Archbishop JOB, at the invitation of His Eminence Metropolitan CHRISTOPHER of the Serbian Orthodox Church participated in the 4th annual Nikolai of Zicha pilgrimage at St Sava Monastery here.

St Nikolai Velimirovich, a survivor of Nazi attrocities at the Dachu Concentration Camp in Germany, came to America in 1942 to teach at St Sava’s Seminary here. He later settled at St Tikhon’s Monastery in South Canaan, Pennsylvania where he served as seminary Dean and Rector.

St Nikolai fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday March 17, 1956. He was buried at St Sava’s Monastery.

In 1991 St Nikolai’s relics were transfered to Serbia. St Nikolai was canonized by the Serbian Orthodox Church on May 19, 2003.
