OVERLAND PARK SCOUTS HOST SOUPER BOWL TO MARK SCOUT SUNDAY

OVERLAND PARK, KS [MW Communications] – On Sunday, February 7, 2010, girls and boys participating in Scouting were recognized at the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy as encouraged by SCOBA.

Fr. Timothy Sawchak congratulated them for their work and exhorted them to continue in Scouting, and, particularly for those in Cub Scouts, to pursue their work with the Boy Scouts and to strive for the award of Eagle Scout.

On the same day, the parish also had a Chili Cook-off for Souper Bowl Sunday. There were 12 entrants in the Cook-off and each received a prize. All donations from the Cook-off were forwarded to IOCC and parishioners brought non-perishable food items for the Food Pantry at St. Mary of Egypt Church in Kansas City, MO.
