NOMINATION PROCESS CLOSES FOR MIDWEST DIOCESE

CHICAGO, IL [MW Communications] – As announced, the  OCA’s Diocese of the Midwest closed the nomination phase of its Episcopal Selection process  on Friday, March 26th.

“We want to thank everyone who submitted names of potential candidates,” said Fr. John Zdinak, Diocesan Chancellor. ” We received some thirty names in nomination – including candidates from the Holy Synod of the OCA,  as well as names from clergy and laity both inside and outside of the Diocese, indeed from around the country and around the world.”

The nominations received included hierarchs, clergy, monastics and laymen. The Committee will now review all the nominations in light of the published guidelines and qualities the Diocese is seeking, before a final selection of three candidates is determined by the Diocesan Council at its meeting in June, 2010.
