VIDEO CONFIRMS FLOODING AT MINOT’S SAINT PETER THE ALEUT CHURCH

Video confirms flooding at Minot’s Saint Peter the Aleut Church

MINOT, ND [MW Diocese Communications] — While obtaining specific information on the status of Saint Peter the Aleut parish here, an aerial YouTube video posted on the web site of the Grand Forks [ND] Herald at www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/207852/group/homepage clearly indicates that the church is under water.

The seven minute video, posted on the Herald’s web site on June 25, 2011, was taken from a North Dakota National Guard Black Hawk helicopter.

The church’s distinctive twin white cupolas and central cross are clearly visible at the 2:44 through 2:47 markers.

Ongoing prayers for the rector, Igumen Anastassy, the parish faithful, and the entire population of the region are requested, especially as cleanup efforts get underway.
