In Memoriam: Matushka Ruth KuchtaJOLIET, IL [MW Diocese Communications UPDATE] — Matushka Ruth Kuchta, 77, fell asleep in the Lord at home, surrounded by her family, after a lengthy illness on the morning of Sunday, March 4, 2012.  She was the beloved wife of Archpriest John Elias Kuchta, retired long-time rector of Saint Nicholas Church here.
 
Matushka Ruth was secretary at the Joliet Junior College Library for 35 years before retiring.  She also was an officer of the Saint Nicholas Ladies’ Aid and Altar Circle, a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the Saint Nicholas Church Choir.
 
In addition to her beloved husband of 56 years, Father John, she was the loving mother of Archpriest Alexander (Natalie) Kuchta, Rebecca (Gregory) Grabavoy, and Charissa Holwey; the loving grandmother of Alayna, Sarah, Nika, Nicholas, Juliana, Rachel, and Michael; and the dear sister of Helen Musser, John (Joan) Papinchak, and Jim (Chris) Papinchak.  She also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
 
Visitation will begin at Saint Nicholas Church, 1000 Barber Lane, Joliet, IL at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6.  The Panikhida will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
