Pastoral Visit: Ash Grove & Springfield, MO
His Grace MATTHIAS, Bishop of Chicago and the Midwest Diocese (OCA), made Pastoral Visits to Theotokos “Unexpected Joy” Orthodox Church in Ash Grove and St. Thomas the Apostle Orthodox Church in Springfield, March 16-18, 2012.
His Grace served Vespers Friday and Divine Liturgy Saturday in Ash Grove. Assisting clergy: Fr. Moses Berry, Fr. Michael Kuzara, Fr. Andrew More, Fr. Dn. Nicholas Mogan, and Fr. Dn. Theodore Niklasson. Special events: Fr. Michael – Gold Cross, Mat. Magdalena Berry – Gramata, and Michael Mogan – Tonsured Reader (his father, Fr. Dn. Nicholas Mogan traveled from England for the event). Visitors included St. Thomas parishioners.
His Grace served Great Vespers Saturday and a joint Divine Liturgy Sunday for parishioners from both parishes. Assisting clergy: Fr. Andrew, Fr. Moses, Fr. Michael, Fr. Dn. Nicholas, and Fr. Dn. Theodore. Special event: Emmanouel Savvenas – Gramata.
