Beirut’s Saint Romanos Choir to perform in concert in Chicago area September 11

CICERO, IL [MW Diocese Communications] — The Choir of Saint Romanos the Melodist of the Archdiocese of Beirut, Lebanon and the Pan-Orthodox Choir of Greater Chicago will perform in concert at Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 1220 South 60th Court, Cicero, IL on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

The choirs will present a program of liturgical hymns representing the Syro-Byzantine tradition.

The Saint Romanos Choir is visiting major US cities for the first time with the blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan Philip of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America and His Eminence, Metropolitan Elias of Beirut from September 10 through 24.  The choir’s tour is being funded through the generosity of the Order of Saint Ignatius of Antioch, the charitable arm of the Antiochian Archdiocese.

Concert tickets are $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for college students with a valid college ID.  There is no admission charge for children age 12 and under.  Tickets may be ordered in advance by contacting office@stgeorgecicero.org or may be purchased at the door.
