On Friday evening, Bishop Matthias was hosted for dinner by Father James, Matushka Susan and Subdeacon Alex Koranda.

The following morning, Bishop Matthias visited the Catacomb Bookstore/Coffeehouse and spoke with parishioner Madelyn Lloyd, who manages the bookstore.  Later in the day, he visited Archangels Michael and Gabriel Mission, Omaha, where he met Nikki Hunter, widow of the newly departed Butch Michael Hunter, the mission’s former president.

Prior to the celebration of the Saturday evening Vigil at Saint John’s, a reception was held for the parish faithful, affording them an opportunity to meet and speak with Bishop Matthias in an informal setting.  After the celebration of the Vigil, members of the parish council, together with the Danks, enjoyed dinner with Bishop Matthias.

During the Sunday Divine Liturgy, Steven Bush was tonsured to the order of Reader, while Deacon Aasen was elevated to the dignity of Protodeacon.  A luncheon followed, hosted by members of the Saints Martha and Mary Guild.  At the end of the festivities, Bishop Matthias was presented with a framed photograph of Saint John of Kronstadt.
