MERRILLVILLE, IN [MW Diocese Communications] — Archpriest Peter Bodnar and the faithful of the Protection of the Holy Virgin Church here will celebrate their parish’s 101st anniversary on Saturday and Sunday, October 6-7, 2012.
Saturday’s events begin with presentations at 4:00 p.m., followed by a wine and cheese social and an opportunity to meet Priest Andrew Moore, anniversary guest speaker. Father Andrew is rector of Saint Thomas Church, Springfield, MO. Great Vespers followed by a Memorial for departed parish members will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m.
On Sunday morning, a process to the church will begin at 9:45 a.m., followed by the celebration of the Divine Liturgy. An anniversary dinner will follow.
