Minneapolis site of lenten retreat for teens, young adults and 20-somethings

MINNEAPOLIS, MN [MW Diocese Communications] — Saint Mary’s Cathedral here will sponsor a lenten retreat for teens, young adults, and 20-somethings on Saturday, April 13, 2013.  Registration deadline for the retreat is Wednesday, April 10.

Titled “The Gospel We Preach” and sponsored by the Department of Youth, Young Adult, and Campus Ministries of the Orthodox Church in America, this retreat will focus on the core message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how to share it in our time and place. Participants will be exposed to different short videos of what the Gospel is – and is not! – in order to come to a better understanding of the Gospel we are called to preach to the nations. The retreat will include interactive exercises and opportunities for participants to practice their public speaking, writing, and rhetorical skills. The afternoon will end with a capstone session that summarizes the core message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Orthodox tradition and the writings of the Church Fathers. Great Vespers will immediately follow the retreat. Lunch will be served.

The retreat will be led by Andrew Boyd, OCA Youth Director, and the Cathedral’s own Deacon Jason Ketz. There is no cost to attend.

Please RSVP to Deacon Jason Ketz at Jason.Ketz@gmail.com by April 10.
