Bishop Alexander visits St. Mary’s Cathedral, Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS, MN [MW Diocese Communications] — His Grace, Bishop Alexander, made a pastoral visit to Saint Mary’s Cathedral here over a long autumn weekend for the community’s annual festival, A Taste of Northeast, on September 28, and the parish altar feast of the Protection of the Mother of God on October 1, 2013.
At the Sunday Liturgy, Bishop Alexander blessed Viktor Boris and Samuel Staughton to wear the orarion as altar servers.
Deanery clergy joined with Bishop Alexander, the cathedral staff and faithful and guests from area churches at the celebration on the feast on Tuesday. Bishop Alexander met with the Minneapolis Deanery clergy while in the Twin Cities, and gave a provisional blessing for the formation of a new Russian mission. He was also given a tour of the Russian Museum of Art by museum curator Dr. Maria Zavialova. The museum presents an important exhibition on the Romanov legacy November 15, 2013 through March 23, 2014 (http://tmora.org/exhibition/the-romanovs-legacy-empire-lost).
