Chicago faithful again host “Little Village” Thanksgiving dinner

CHICAGO, IL [MW Diocese Communications] — Priest John Baker and the faithful of Christ the Savior Church here expect to serve up to 150 persons in the city’s “Little Village” neighborhood on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, the eve of Thanksgiving Day.

The event will begin with the serving of appetizers from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m., at which time the traditional Thanksgiving dinner will be served.  Family activities will be held from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m.  The dinner and family activities will be held in the Bishop Manz Hall across the street from Saint Agnes Catholic Church, 2651 South Central Park Ave., Chicago.

Chicago area faithful who would like to volunteer to help are asked to contact Susan Labun, coordinator, at n.labun@att.net.

Located in the heart of downtown Chicago’s north side, Christ the Savior parish continues to pursue a variety of outreach ministries in Little Village, a neighborhood that has been plagued by street violence in recent years.  See related story on similar ministries the parish has undertaken at www.domoca.org/news_140804_2.
