Chicago area Sanctity of Life service, presentation to be held Sunday, January 25

NILES, IL [MW Diocese Communications] — The sixth annual Pan-Orthodox Sanctity of Life Prayer Service will be celebrated at Saint Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church here on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.

“As you know, January 22 marks the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision which legalized abortion in the US,” said Protopresbyter Dean Botsis, host pastor and president of the Orthodox Christian Clergy Association of Greater Chicago, which is sponsoring the service.  “It is an anniversary that should sharpen our conviction that Life is Sacred.”

Co-sponsoring the service will be Orthodox Christians for Life Chicago, for which Priest Andrew Bartek, Rector of Saint Panteleimon Church [OCA], Summit, IL, was recently named Spiritual Advisor.

Following the service, Mr. George Petmezas will offer a presentation titled “Faith and Perseverance on a Life-Changing Journey.”

The public is invited to attend.  Additional information may be obtained by contacting the OCCA Committee at nilesgoc@aol.com.
