Fr. Peter Pawlack honored on 50th Anniversary of OrdinationELLWOOD CITY, PA [MW Diocese Communications] — Archpriest Peter and Matushka Barbara Pawlack were honored recently at a Divine Liturgy and luncheon at the Monastery of the Transfiguration here marking the 50th Anniversary of Father Peter’s ordination to the priesthood.

For decades prior to his retirement, Father Peter had served as Rector of Saint John the Baptist Church, Warren, OH.  He also had served as a member of the Diocesan Council and the Board of Saint John Monastery, Hiram, OH.

Also present at the Liturgy were Protopresbyter Thomas Hopko, retired Dean of Saint Vladimir’s Seminary, Yonkers, NY, who delivered the homily, and Archimandrite Pitirim.  The Pawlacks’ son Gregory surprised his parents by traveling from Columbus, OH for the day.

During the luncheon graciously prepared by the nuns, Father Peter offered a summary of his life and ministry, after which he and Matushka Barbara cut the anniversary cake.
