UPDATED Chicago area youth invited to participate in dialogue with Assembly of Bishops September 15
CHICAGO, IL [MW Diocese Communications] — In conjunction with the sixth annual meeting of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America at the Hilton Chicago O’Hare Airport Hotel here September 15-17, 2015, a pan-Orthodox youth gathering, during which area high school and college students will engage in a dialogue with a panel of Assembly hierarchs, will be held.
The youth gathering will be held at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 5701 North Redwood Drive, Chicago on Tuesday, September 15. A welcoming orientation session will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by a Service of Thanksgiving. The dialogue with the hierarchs will begin at 7:00 p.m., followed by refreshments and fellowship. The evening will conclude at 10:00 p.m.

The Assembly’s sixth annual meeting will include two sessions devoted to canonical regional planning. In the first of these sessions, the Assembly’s 12 jurisdictional first hierarchs will offer their comments on a proposal prepared by the Committee for Canonical Regional Planning for submission to the Great and Holy Council in 2016. In the second session, the Assembly’s hierarchs will engage in a facilitated discussion about the proposal. This year’s meeting also includes a working session on pastoral practices of marriage and divorce.
