CHICAGO, IL [MW Diocese Communications] — New courses in the Old Testament will be starting soon in the Detroit Deanery and in an on-line class for diocesan students without a larger local cohort of students.  The courses are being offered by the Diocese of the Midwest’s Saint Macrina Institute.

New Biblical Studies and other classes offered by St Macrina Institute“A New Testament half of a course is running continuously following a section on the Old Testament for students in Detroit, MI and Dayton, OH, while the Kansas City program is running a program in their unique cycle, ‘Contemplation 2,’ which incorporates several different areas of study, including biblical studies,” said Priest Elijah Mueller, Institute Director.  “Three biblical scholar faculty members are teaching the Dayton, Detroit and diocesan classes — Father Silviu Bunta, Eric Jobe, and Prevytera Rebecca Luft.  We are blessed to have a large faculty of biblical scholars.”

In addition, a diocesan class in Spirituality will be offered again this fall for students who do not have a local cohort of students.  Father Elijah will be teaching this class using the diocesan webinar link.

A program in the Cleveland area is in the planning phase.  Additional information will be forthcoming.

Those interested in any of these classes are asked to contact Father Elijah Mueller at 312-714-9775 or elijahnmueller@sbcglobal.net.
