Chicago’s Christ the Savior Church seeks choir director

CHICAGO, IL [MW Diocese Communications] — Christ the Savior Church — a young and vibrant parish home in the heart of the city of Chicago — is seeking the services of a choir director.

Chicagos Christ the Savior Church seeks choir director“We strive for a serious liturgical schedule and continual growth through receiving new converts and welcoming people who move here from all over,” said Priest John Baker, the parish’s Rector.  “Our singing tradition is mostly four-part Russian-style, but all in the English language.  Our weekly Sunday Liturgy and certain other services are broadcast live on Ancient Faith Radio.”

The ideal candidate for would be a degreed music professional with experience directing the All-night Vigil, Divine Liturgy, and Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts.  He or she would be proficient at preparing the services, giving pitches, reading, singing, leading rehearsals, and conducting the choir.  He or she would be able to commit to four services per week.  Since services are scheduled outside normal business hours, the individual would still be free to engage in full-time employment outside the church.
