Fr. Andrew Bartek appointed Summit, IL Fire Chaplain
SUMMIT, IL [MW Diocese Communications] — The Summit, IL Village Board officially voted Priest Andrew Bartek, Rector of Saint Panteleimon Church here, as their Fire Chaplain on November 16, 2015. The following day, Fire Chief Wayne Hanson presented Father Andrew with a gold badge. In addition to providing counseling to fire fighters when needed and requested, he may be asked to accompany the firefighters or EMS personnel on calls and to serve in other capacities when asked to do so.
In addition to his parish duties, Father Andrew also serves on the Board of Directors of the Mary and Martha Pan-Orthodox Maternity House for unwed mothers and the March for Life-Chicago; serves as spiritual advisor to the Chicago Orthodox Christians for Life; and participates in the Chicago Orthodox Clergy Association.
