Subdeacon John Kennerk ordained to the Diaconate
CHICAGO, IL [MW Diocese Communications] — Subdeacon John Kennerk was ordained to the Diaconate by His Grace, Bishop Paul during the Divine Liturgy celebrated at Christ the Savior Church here on Sunday, January 10, 2016.
Concelebrating with Bishop Paul were Priest John Baker and Deacons Theophan Warren and Alexander Koranda. Philip Sokolov led the parish choir.
Deacon John — currently a second-year Master of Divinity Student at Saint Tikhon’s Seminary, South Canaan, PA — and his wife Michelle had been received into Orthodox Christianity at Christ the Savior Church in 2011.
Also during the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Paul tonsured Andrew Bender to the Order of Reader. Andrew and his family also had been received into the Faith at Christ the Savior Church in 2014.
The Liturgy was broadcast live on Ancient Faith Radio.
