Detroit’s Council of Orthodox Christian Churches to sponsor Sunday Lenten Vespers

DETROIT, MI [MW Diocese Communications] — The Council of Orthodox Christian Churches of Metropolitan Detroit [COCC] recently announced its schedule of Sunday evening pan-Orthodox Lenten Vespers services.

  • Sunday, March 27:  Saint Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 21931 Evergreen Road, Southfield, 48075.  Members of the Saint John Chrysostom Clergy Brotherhood and clergy from the host parish will conduct the service. The Orthodox Lenten Vespers Choir, directed by Matushka Victoria Kopistiansky, will sing the responses.  Homilist:  Priest Joseph Gingrich of Saint George Greek Orthodox Church, Bloomfield Hills, MI.
  • Sunday, April 3:  Nativity of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 39851 West Five Mile Road, Plymouth, MI.
  • Sunday, April 10:  Saint Michael Russian Orthodox Church, 26375 West Chicago Road, Redford, MI.
  • Sunday, April 17:  Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 2160 East Maple Road, Troy, MI.
