Sr. Vassa speaks at Oberlin College OCF

OBERLIN, OH [MW Diocese Communications] — Sister Dr. Vassa [Larin], a nun of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia and noted liturgiologist who teaches at the University of Vienna, Austria, made a Sr Vassa speaks at Oberlin College OCF stop in Northeast Ohio on Friday, October 28, 2016, during her recent tour of the United States.

Sister Vassa is well known for her popular YouTube series of catechetical programs, “Coffee with Sister Vassa”.

Sister Vassa was hosted by the Oberlin College Orthodox Christian Fellowship on the school’s campus.  Her talk was titled “Marriage and Divorce in an Age of Fluidity.”  On Saturday, October 29, she addressed a pan-Orthodox audience in Lorain, OH on “Rejection and Failure in Light of Faith.”  On Sunday morning, October 30, Sister Vassa was welcomed by Priest Joseph McCartney and the faithful of Lorain’s Saints Peter and Paul Church for the Divine Liturgy.
